The differences between soundbar and home theater
The soundbar is a more practical solution for those that are looking for good quality sound but do not have the time or money to invest in home theaters. The question is, what is better for the money, a soundbar or home theater?
The main difference between a soundbar and a home theater system is the direction of sound. A home theater is going to produce sounds from all around the room. You should be able to hear sound coming from all different directions.
A person might have one home theater speaker set up in each corner of the room or two in the front and two in the back of the room. It is all a personal preference.
A soundbar is just going to sit in one spot and play sounds from that position. It could go right in front of the television or somewhere off to the side, but you will not get that surround sound feel.
Multimedia soundbar speakers were mostly built to feed sound into both ears. Most soundbars are going to be a 2.0 system while a home theater will have 13 channels.
Bottom line is, if you have a good amount of money set aside to invest in a sound system at home the best option would be the home theater. There are so many more ways to customize the setup and the sound quality is going to be better.
